#3 Back in NASCAR's Cup Series
|
Nice looking Fusary SS.
|
meh, all the cars are the same under the paint. what used to be called innovation is now called cheating.
|
I'm not a fan. I'd like to see them retire the number 3 from NASCAR.

Too many guaranteed spots. |
He only wants the number for the legend behind it...I hope the God he Fails every week until he changes numbers. He needs his own legend to build on, not mooch off someone elses.
What about all the people..hundreds of Thousands, that proudly wear #3 Tattoos, banner,s flags, paint schemes, etc...in memory of The Intimidator? I think its very alienating to the fans..and will only push people away. |
Dunno, they've already screwed it up so much. Their base long ago left, and now they market to yuppies. Who are fickle and leave when it gets boring.

He posted no Poles..No Wins, and 76 Top 10's..... Dillon picked #3 for one reason and one reason only..and thats pretty obvious. |

But yeah, as RED said above, he changed his car number to 3 from 96 as a tribute to Junior Johnson. Oh, and Austin Dillon looks like an idiot in that stupid cowboy hat with a fire suit on. :funny: |
nascar: if we get press off of something, that's good. whatever it is. more press about us equals more $$ in our coffers at the end of the day.
|
Even more proof that he is looking to ride coattails?...same size, font, similar color sceme...
What a fukcin prick. The only #3 ill recognize... http://partmule.com/images/50533_earnhardt.3.jpg |

You do realize that in addition to being a driver, Richard Childress also happened to be the owner of the #3 BEFORE Dale Sr. ever got in it, right? Quote:
Uhhhhh yea. It is pretty obvious that he wants to use HIS family number. The fact that you attribute it to Earnhardt as opposed to Childress is irrelevant. Would there be outrage if it was Dale Jr, in it? Austin Dillon is Richard Childress' grandson. That number means every bit as much to the Childress family as it does the Earnhardt family... if not more. Proir to driving for RCR, Earnhardt drove both the 8 or 15 (hence the numbers of the DEI cars when he started it). It was only when he started driving for RCR that the 3 came into play. The number was because of Richard Childress, NOT because of Dale Earnhardt. As someone who grew up as an Earnhardt fan, I see absolutely no problem with it. |

It was used in EVERY series that RCR had a car. On top of Austin and Ty Dillon... Mike Skinner, Jay Sauter, and many others have driven a black #3 for RCR. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...oenix_1997.jpg Ricky Rudd drove the 3 for RCR before Earnhardt ever did... http://www.bakerracingpix.com/data/i...1983bud105.jpg |

I'm totally for it. Big E would not have accomplished what he had without Childress. It's Richard's grandson, and even Little E has given his support for the decision. I don't see the problem. |
