What is your daily driver?

I'm renting a 2020 Camaro SS conv. My first modern sports car in quite some time. I think it has all the bells and whistles. The thing is a beast. Paddle shifters, tiptronic type, auto 10-speed trans. Awesome sound when it starts and you punch it. You have to be VERY quick to shift the trans. with the paddles or stick. Those first few gears makes it redline quickly. Four driving modes - tour, sport, track, something else that I forget. It is hard to see out of with the little windows. But, THAT MOTOR and trans!

The new RAM 1500 is an awesome truck. However, I have no regrets trading mine for the '20 Gladiator. The only regret I have with the Gladiator is that I didn't buy it instead of the RAM.

With proper winter tires it's just as good as any other rear wheel drive car.

I run Bridgestone Blizzak DM-v2 tires and I have no issues.

I've been driving V8 powered Chargers in the winter since 2007. Proper winter tires and commons sense go a long way...

Because all tires are not created equal. Goodyear tires suck dick.

Absolutely no brand loyalty whatsoever. I buy what I like.

Never bought an import though.

Depends on whether talking new or used or even classics.
Older cars I'd buy pretty much any manufacturer, used usually GM but have had all brands(regretted all the Chrysler products however). New it'd be GM as well it's a family thing.

2020 F150 platinum, 37000 miles by now. massaging seats rock.
also have a 2013 plain jane f150 with 50k on it for days I need to do actual work that would hurt the feelings of the platinum.

As far as brand loyalty, i might be guilty, i cannot remember a time I havent had an f150 as far back to at least Y2K. Then again when my c8 arrives it will be vette #9 .

Well, you Americans don't consider Dodge/Chrysler/Ford Chevy imports and lots of them are/were made here in Canada.

Ford Edge
Ford Winstar
Lincoln MKX
Chevy Camaro
Dodge Magnum
Dodge Charger
Dodge Challenger
Chrysler 300

Those are just the ones I know right off the top of my head; I am sure there are others.

And Toyota really isn't an import either, since they make them here too. But I still consider a Toyota an import.

To me (and most people) Ford/Chevy/Chrysler(Dodge) are domestic and everything else is an import.

Modern times the waters are very muddy.

But there's a reason the Charger/Challenger/300 say "Designed in Detroit". Because they're all built in Brampton, Ontario, a few miles form where I am sitting right now.

But y'all still call them "American" cars.

I've owned several - Fiat, VW, GM (Chev. Pontiac), BMW, Nissan/Infinity, etc...I live in a small town and the only dealer we have now and have only had for a long time is Ford. I was fairly brand loyal to Chev. until they killed off their small town dealerships. Which I still don't understand why a decade or so ago. I would still most likely be loyal to them, but if I have to travel 25 plus miles to a dealership there are too many others to choose from.

Company truck has free gas (2018 F150) insurance, and payments. I just pay income tax on personal mileage.

Jeep is a vehicle I don't care a lot about and it's a lot easier to wash than either of the other two, so they stay tucked away in crappy weather.

I've had several company trucks over the years. It's a nice perk. Some were such pieces of shit I wouldn't park them in the driveway. It surprised me the company would put their names on such a wreck.

The worst was a Ford Courier. The front end was so bad keeping it between the lines was almost impossible. You'd about have to turn it lock-lock just to keep it going straight. Tow a Miller Big 40 and the front end about came off the ground.

I've had some nice new ones too fully equipped with every hand tool you could ever want.

DD is a 2019 Ecoboost Mustang w/ 10 speed. Hunting truck is an 04 Ranger Edge that just hit 85K. I like Fords and all my new vehicles for the last 25 years have been Fords.
For toys I just buy whatever strikes my fancy.

I was brand loyal till i bought that new yukon denali. What a POS, probably wont be buying another GM for quite some time, if ever.

Do tell. I like that Denali. It's getting into Escalade territory but I like it.

It was my first ever brand new car, a late model 2015 Denali with the 6.2 and the 8speed transmission. The torque converter had problems throughout they replaced it at 20k miles but it was still acting up. The A/C failed at 48k miles and that was the final straw for me.

Other failures, leaking/failed radio antenna, failed window regulator, rattle in dash, lots of visits for the torque converter vibrations, awful GM service locally given the price of the truck I would have expected better service throughout.

I think that 8 speed transmission is a POS. I had mine in at 4000 miles for some torque converter chattering. They’re claiming it was some fluid recall thing and they’re on their third blend. It’s been OK since the fluid change. That was 35,000 ago so maybe.

:issues:

It was all done for maximum fuel economy and there were issues with the 8 speed autos.

I took the 'Mero into the dealer because of the transmission. They couldn't find an issue with it.

Loved the car, would buy another one, but not with an automatic.

Daily 2018 Jeep Trackhawk, if I can keep the foot out of it MPG isn't too bad. But that 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds, I just can't.

Used to be brand loyal to GM, it will be a long cold day in hell before I give my good money to that bunch of criminals.

Wife's 2008 TrailBlazer SS, 23,000 on the odometer and we have the 2019 Ford Transit Connect for carrying the Berners around, it is their van.

Didn't GM design the 8 speed and Ford the 10 speed. I heard the story Ford saw what GM was doing and walked away from the deal. Both GM 8 speeds I had, one in the Denali and one in the 17 V, were total pieces of shit. The 8 speed in the Hawk has been great.
