The Administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will permit states to issue Driver's Licenses to illegal immigrants. California has a 1993 law on the books denying this occurrence but it appears that the left coast socialists are going to repeal it and start issuing licenses to the approximately 390,000 illegal immigrants currently resident in California.

In Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and others have said for some time that issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants would increase public safety because licensed drivers are required to pass a driving test and to have auto insurance.

However, under the current reciprocity agreements between states a valid California license issued to an illegal immigrant is valid in other states such as Arizona where Gov. Brewer has explicitly stated that no state services are to be provided to people who are there illegally.

So what is to preclude an illegal immigrant to drive from Phoenix with no license whatsoever to downtown Los Angeles to obtain a California license and then to return to Arizona where the state must accept it?

Nope, I believe they're allow to check if they have a reason to do so. Unfortunately ICE pretty much withdrew from the state of Arizona. So if they determine somebody is illegal they can't do anything do them. So honestly they might be better off NOT checking their immigration status.

Why not check it? Is it because of money or racial profiling accusations? If they do check it and ICE does nothing, they pubs should be screaming it from the top of their lungs to the rest of the country that's fed up with this crap.

I read an article today that AZ & NE will not issue a license to an illegal. CA and OR will.

Texas only stopped issuing DL's to illegals a few years ago. Considering that the licenses are valid for 6 years, there are still plenty of illegal aliens running around with driver's licenses just as valid as mine or (formerly) yours.

In Missouri you cannot get a license without a BC and or legal immigration papers and it's been that way since 911.

Will these licenses be issued WITHOUT photos of the licensee, as it's been said that obtaining photo ID would create "grave and undue hardship" for the applicant.

What in hell is the hardship?? in Florida, I had to get a CERTIFIED copy of my Maryland Birth cert, and two utility bills to prove addy, and show my SS card.....to renew my license, I was told at the agency it was a new FEDERAL LAW that all the states had to adhere to, so now in hell can Ca/other nitwit states get around it??? WTF??

Not only that, a woman who has been divorced has to show her divorce papers as well.

A citizen MUST show proof of who we are but illegals and the dead do not.

What the hell has happened to us? How did we allow this to happen, or has it been going on all along, but now with instant access to information we're finding out about it because in the past the media did nothing to uncover it and actually hid it?
