Alpine Nav

Anyone used or even played with the latest version of Alpines navigation, specifically the IVA-W505/P1? Read many poor reviews of the older versions but I just love Alpine so much and am hoping they get their chit together on this. I really don't want to go Kenwood but will if I have to, I guess.

Stay away from the Alpine Double Dins.
They are not very good, NAV sucks and sound quality and upgrade features are not worth it.

Whats your key features you want? If its NAV Kenwood is by far the best way to go.
Pioneer and a couple of the new JVC are not bad either.

The suggestion I make to everyone who buys a new head unit form me is to go to Best Buy or somewhere that has Pioneer and Kenwood and play around with them and check out the features. Then look at thier price and call me for mine:banana:

Alpine makes some nice 1 din units but Kenwood is the way to go

I have the Alpine unit and Nav. The Nav is the old Blackbird II that you can use in other cars. It's pretty bad. I bought it 3 years ago, when Alpine first came out with it. Knowing that their other stuff was good, I am very disapointed with it. I have too much money in this set up now to change it, but I know for sure that in my daily driver, I'll be going with the new Eclipse unit. I had and old Eclipse DD in my old DD, and loved it.
