Normally, I would give mrvette a good-natured ribbing about him not knowing what it is since he is always a good sport, but not this time. I can understand not knowing what it is without keeping up on the exotics. Not to say the Huracan is generic, because it most certainly isn't. However, today's exotics aren't iconic like the ones from 30 years ago. Everyone knew what a Countach was when they saw one. Same for a Ferrari 308. They drove like shit on the street, but it was an event to roll one past the beach.

I'm both stupid and not a Ballah. What does that rent for on a daily basis?

I bet if you laid next to it, you would be longer.

My rental for the C7 all in would have been $1278 for the week and a day. I get this for 48 hours and it added $1000, for a total of $2,264. HOWEVER, when I initially asked, the quote was $3,300+. I said thanks, but I'm not sure I love my mom "that" much. He then asked if I could stay within 90 miles per day, total of 180, and I said absolutely, hence the lower price. So based on the original quote, it seems like it's close to $1,000/day.

Fast forward, I called to confirm the Friday the week before and the manager asked me to do a favor for him...they will pay for the gas and I MUST turn it back in with under 1/4 tank, as it's going indoors on Monday for a trade show. AND, as long as I return it with 250'ish miles, it's all good! State law dictates that vehicles indoors like that have to have less than 1/4 tank.

Mom and I just got done with a canyon run in it and the video "was" on. We did a spirited jaunt through Red Rock Canyon, and hit 126 mph at one point. Turns out mom accidentally hit the stop recording button, so we only got 8 seconds of her feet. We'll head back out tomorrow for take 2.

About the car...

It's tight, but WAY better than the C7 for me. In Strada mode and full automatic, it's just as docile as an Audi. In Corsa mode this thing is truly a raging bull. :yesnod: I REALLY REALLY like this car. Corvette interior doesn't hold a candle to this car, but they start at $250k, so there's that.

I might start looking on the used market. :leaving:

Funny story...

Before heading out for our drive, I stopped by Chase and deposited the $6,000 in cash into my checking account, thus ensuring no temptation, nor possible theft or other issue. Upon leaving the bank, a rather attractive bank lady asked me "How exactly does someone your size fit in that car?":rofl::rofl: I said it's not too bad, and way better than the Corvette.

Damn, was she cute. :leaving: Now I may really need to buy one of these.

Now, the best response might have been,
“ If we can manage the position, how about it?”

We took Kermit up to Mt. Charleston for lunch, but did not get to video. Owed my niece a ride, so she did the video here tonight. Just a quick blast to 130 before we even got ON the interstate. Then driving Miss Daisy. The twists and turns up to the Lodge in Mt. Charleston were fun.

Every rental car deserves to be in the garage. :leaving: Mom's Honda has been exiled for two nights.

OK, red one makes 3 washes/waxes this week, even though I'll only have this one a total of 14 hours.

Just imagine how much of that $6,200 you could have lost back during the time you did all that washing and waxing and it sounds like time well spent.:yesnod:

Hell, I'm with you there. Last night and today, I played the cheap 20-40 cent per spin machines and I still made out. I came with a grand to play with, spent 200+ on non-gambling. Yesterday I was down to $190 and today I have $435. Feels like a win to me! Very glad I put the 6k in the bank. :yesnod:

So you are right....less time at the machines by cleaning cars.

Whenever I go to Reno I always take time to walk a few blocks and spend a few hours at the car museum. It's like getting paid $200 to check out the cars.:yesnod:
