the older one... I believe the rear braking is done with just one - mounted near the center of the axle.

I don't remember which year (or ever) that this was changed over to a pair of rear brakes - one at each rear wheel.

Pretty sure all E-Types had inboard disks at the rear; one for each wheel. That might have changed on the later models but don't think so.

I though a legit VIN tag from an early XK-E was worth as much as the one in the first link.

I say scam. Lousy pics and anyone with rudimentary knowledge of the car would not have emphasized "toggle switches" in the interior. Sure would like to buy a series 1 car in running condition for that amount of money.

Yes they are toggle switches but it SHOULD be unnecessary to point that out to any customer who is at all versed in E-type lore. It's a bit like saying your laptop comes with a built in touchpad mouse. They all have them.

I thought this would be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer.

I mean, the guy points out that the XK-E has toggle switches and doesn't provide any details at all about the car except that it has "exhaust header(s)", 3 SU carbs, and "covered headlights", which weren't on the '68 Series 1.5 cars btw. :yesnod::yesnod:

And Milton... yeah I call them toggle switches and if I was selling a '68 Series 1.5 Jag, I think I could have thought of a few things to emphasize besides toggle switches especially since the Series 1.5 XK-E had rocker switches, not toggles to meet US safety regs. They also didn't have covered headlights though I think that's a popular conversion on Series 1.5 cars. Don't think you can convert Series ii cars. :cert::cert:

It's a scam.

My '72 vette had a ton of toggle switches built into the console, where the stock a/c controls were, and where the ashtray/lighter were is a bunch of pretty flickering lights.....two rows of 4 red LED's....they run off the tach pulse and flicker in the firing order two blue LED's flicker back and forth for the batch fire injection....green LED for signalling the engine is live, and the SES light....

I also have an anti theft system wired in....need hit a garage door opener button to enable the computer.....with the ignition ON, of course.....

I was going to post a pix of the interior/console, but reverting back to a win10 machine, I don't have the pix on this machine....lovely....
