Some new mods ordered...
Decided to take the front facia off and do it all at once...

656HP 427, wonder who you are calling out. |
Technically these aren't mods... they're subtle finishing touches ;)

Kevin and I were looking at that red couple @ VaSpeed the other day and he commented about how much he hates the diamond cut backup housing piece... I just chuckled.
Personally I think the diamond cut lenses serve to freshen/modernize the car a little. It'll be interesting to see how well the HID fogs work... from what I've read many say they rarely use the headlights after installing them. |
When I back out of my drive, I don't turn the headlights on, so they don't shine in the neighbors houses. There's been several times I forgot to turn my headlights on when leaving the house after turning on the fogs. They are much brighter than the headlights on my Mark VIII, so I just kinda go stupid. :D

Jeees! How did I get dragged into this.
What I said was "they would look ricey on my car." |

^ That's a sweet whiney chrome intake manifold ;)

Thanks, have you started buffering yet? I need to buff mine before Waterside.
|
Washed the car last night and clayed it after the gym this evening... going to start on the actual buffing tomorrow evening. The paint was surprisingly clean... the clay didn't have much to take off at all.

Those are some nice bling mods and not ricey at allhttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ions/nixon.gif

I think the light mods set it off a little bit and make it look a little cleaner myself. I have yet to see (or at least take notice of) the side screens in person, so I am interested to see how they wind up looking.

My diamond-cut reverse panel was delivered by the FedEx guy while I was finishing up the buffing.... installed it along w/ the fluch mount tail light kit that I took off my Z06. Taking a break... about to go start on the actual polishing.

Installed the rest of the stuff tonight... took the front facia off to make it easy. Figured I could install the Z06 screens in the OEM manner, but I guess you have to drill the lower part of the front bumper openings, because they sure don't use the holes of the coupe/vert shrouds. Anyone know how the Z06 screen is held in in a Z06? My Z06 has the front bumper off of Kevin's (wkmcd) vert and I don't remember what my original was like.... took it off long ago. Ended using the "velcro method" and am glad I did... I can pull them out when needed to fiddle w/ the fogs etc.
I'm in love w/ my air tools... specifically my "stubby" 1/4" drive air ratchet. Last time I did this by hand, tonight it was a breeze using air. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3929.jpg Build sheet was in the bumper bar as expected... http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3930.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3931.jpg Used the existing foglight srew to mount the ballast and zip-tied the wires nice and neat. Can't belive how cheap HIDs have gotten and how small the ballasts are. Last set I had in my old Specter Werkes C5-R lights was over $300 and the ballast was way bigger http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3932.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3933.jpg 4300K HIDs are great... I don't even need to use the headlights anymore. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3934.jpg The stock foglight lenses have a wonderful cutoff http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3935.jpg New diamond cut turn signals, front bumper and brake duct screens and side cove screens... http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3936.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3937.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...e/DSCF3938.jpg G'night, Brian |
Looks great, I might be doing something close later on. I want to remove my marker lights so I can install additional cooling for oil/tranny but wanted to have some type of fog lights. I will have to check out your setup next time we meet.
I will be asking you questions later. :D |
|
Lookin' good Brian.
BTW: I'm trying to talk Shawn and Ed into firing up the grill next Saturday when I come down to pick up the car if everything goes as planned. |
