Serious thread. I need to get outa here ASAP. Where do you recommend?
 

I haven’t had a second to myself in 23 years without a real day off or vacation.
I feel like I’m 5 minutes from death as I sit here.

I need a quiet beach resort without children.
I just need to sit down in peace and have numerous drinks by myself.

Prefer a 4-hour flight or less from PA. Florida would be ideal because its close.

I just don’t know where to go and I don’t want to make a bad guess by looking at pictures on Expedia.
I want to leave this Sunday morning.

What I don’t want is resorts that show pools or beaches with 500 chairs lines up.

Where do you recommend?

Maybe go somewhere that alcohol isn’t the first choice ?

Cayman Islands are 4 hours from Philly. It has a 7 mile beach. Swim with the stingrays. Go to the Sea Turtle farm. You need a passport.

No passport ? Go to US Virgin Islands. St. Thomas- but stay away from downtown . Stay at the Ritz.

Go rent a house in Emarld Isle in N.C. off season. Nice beach

5 hours gets you to St. Lucia. 6 hours will get you Grenada, Curaçao, or a plethora of Caribbean islands.

Don’t limit yourself to the US. There are a LOT of great vacation sites.

FL may not be the best 1st choice. It’s either touristy, bars, crowded, or there’s absolutely nothing. Nada.

Do you have a passport ?

No.

The problem is that I need to make reservations ASAP for Sunday.
If I just go to Expedia and look at pictures of resorts, it will just be crapshoot of what it looks like in real life.
Don’t want to get there and be disappointed.

Come down to Amelia Island, FL. It’s offseason so no crowds. Lots of pristine white sand beaches & great restaurants. A short drive from JAX airport. Stay at the Ritz or Omni, or rent a condo through VRBO or Airbnb. Weather is perfect this time of year.

Daytona is usually pretty nice, but the 500 is taking place in a week so it will get crowded. There are lots of places within close driving distance, though.
