Actually, the only "special training" I gave my GSD is that she is trained to respond to both verbal commands and hand signals. I use the same signal for "sit" as the guy in the video, a closed fist. It was actually surprisingly easy to do, and does come in handy from time to time.

My heeler is deaf too. Visual signals work just fine. :)

As long as he's looking at us. But he tends to stay close.
