Greetings
Hello,
New to the Forum, but not new to Corvettes. Over a 15 year period, I owned a '71 big block coupe, then a '74 L-82 4 speed and then another '74 L-82, but w/automatic. At one point, I had both L-82 cars on the road at the same time. Without any doubt, the big block was the most fun.....letting that car loose on the "beach road" was insanely addicting....(Goodyear loved me.) These cars knew the way to Ecklers, which is only 70 miles north of here. After those cars, I spent ten years with GM A-body cars. I always admired '61 & '62 Corvettes, then recently was drawn to a very neglected '61......it's in the garage now! This car will be consuming much of my time and will require the endless searching for it's many missing components. My intention is to produce a reliable "driver", but one that will adhere to the original appearance of a '61. I would greatly appreciate any information, leads, parts-for-sale or ideas pertinent to this endeavor. Thank You, Ger45 |

Hey there,
I'm gettin' too old for 12 second street cars and the law makes it really difficult with crazy expensive tickets, so 300 HP with a T-10 is the order of the day...just a decent ride. I do plan to add a dual master and disc front brakes though.....and A/C is pretty much necessary here....(with the top up of course). Take Care, Ger |
Hi Gerry(?) I've had my 62 for over 35 years, and 2 61's and a 60 long ago. Glad to have another C1 guy here, it's a little lonely around here for the old girls.
Got any pics of your 61???? |
