Time to shrink my gun collection so I have some cash
How do you guys normally sell a gun? Local dealers claim they have too many to be buying used.

Don't know, never sold one, never will.

We have a local ‘trader’ paper that always has lots of them in it.

I purchased a long gun from another forum member here. We agreed on a price and I sent him funds. He sent the firearm to the FFL holder I picked and did the transfer there. Extremely easy for both of us.
Get a current "Blue Book of Gun Values" and about 70% of current value is what a reputable gun shop should pay you. |
Guns are like underwear you don’t sell them Or lend them out. That is if I owned any.

I prefer to not sell, but could really use the cash. Maybe I should just buy a mask...:leaving:

I like Gunbroker. The site is easy to navigate and their fees are reasonable. Since you are selling handguns I would cultivate a relationship with a local FFL to handle transferring the piece from FFL to FFL at auction's end since the laws are tighter on pistolas. That will ensure your transaction is fully legal, and you will bear no direct liability if somehow something goes awry in the process. Expect to pay a fee of some sort... my local guy gets $35 to handle the paperwork, plus whatever actual freight is. Also plan to ship the piece in a real case of some sort, like the one it came in as opposed to a cardboard box.
