I am sure I don't want to hear it, but....

how royally fk'ed does it sound like I am???

On my way to work tonight, I was getting on the interstate and as I was accelerating to pull into traffic, there was a clunk and it felt like I lost the tranny for a few seconds.

As I exited the interstate I had no "go" gear with the car in Drive, or 3rd. When I put it in 2nd it picked up. From a standing stop D & 3 are both basically a neutral gear, but if I start out in 1st or 2nd on an easy accel, I can shift into D and it will cycle through all the gears (including overdrive) but the second I give it any gas and it wants to downshift, it pops back to neutral.

Soooo....someone want to take a stab at what might be wrong and also tell me how royally fudged I am, and tell me I will have to refinance the house to fix it, or is someone going to make my day and tell me it is something simple easy, and inexpensive to fix.

Sounds like you're screwed.

But I'm no expert, but I have had many tranny issues over the years. It seems like it's not if, it's when an auto tranny will fall out.

DINGDINGDINGDINGDING...we have a winnah...and had a heart attack when I found out how much.

But with over 130K on the clock, driven hard daily, driven halfway accross the country, and maybe a pass or two on the drag strip...that tranny has has a hard 10 years
