SeaSix splashdown
Are you able to see the splashdown from your location?
|
It was on Discovery Channel.

No it's too far out. Watching via stream feed
Plus they gave such a HUGE range for the splashdown... I didn't even bother going out in my Pontoon to watch. They said anywhere from 30 miles offshore to 175 miles offshore, last I read. :wow: |
I’m watching it on Discovery. :seasix:

WTF over?
F'n boat with a Trump flag just passed between the capsule and the recovery boat, which looks like was less than 50 yards from either one!! |
The Cap'n of that boat is gonna have some 'splaining to do. From the brig of a USCG vessel.
After they impound the USS Trump. |
We saw it too! Crazy! I thought there would be some security near the capsule.
|
Shows just how vulnerable the entire crew is out there during a splashdown with the "security" in place for today.
I seriously doubt they'll attempt another splashdown without some big-time USN/USCG security boats. :wow: |
Apparently there were a bunch of interloping private vessels out there.
I'd like to know HTF any unauthorized folks knew exactly where to go to meet them out there. I'd suspect that's FOUO* (NASA non-DOD classification level) information. Somebody/somebodies are gonna lose their clearances. If not their jobs. And their personal freedom. :thomas: *Edit: For Official Use Only |
Here's a screengrab I made.
The picture was taken from the big recovery vessel. You can see the black (burned from re-entry heat) capsule floating, perhaps 50-100 yards (at MOST) off the bow of the recovery vessel. Aaaaannnnddd..... along comes the photobombing Trump-flagged vessel passing right between the two. Although TECHNICALLY... the Trump vessel has the right of way because it's passing on the recovery vessel's starboard bow. :funnier: https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/...pictureid=3004 |
It looks really close to the capsule!
|
They heading to Eglin?
|
PNS NAS I’d guess off the toppa my head
|
One of the “announcers” said Pensacola.

Glad they made it back safely. :seasix:

Those are patriotic civilian first responders. If the crew had needed to bail immediately for some reason, like a fire in the cabin, it would have been Trump supporters who rescued them, not the Navy. 'Murica, y'all! Story time: I went to see one of the very last Space Shuttle launches. There's a park near the Space Center that we were visiting that morning. I guess they clear it and close it for security, and a military helo hovered near us telling us to GTFO over the speaker. Kinda freaked us out; the rotor wash was creating a dust cloud and even kicking up a few pebbles. We left the park. |
Meanwhile, the Biden rescue team wasn't quite as successful:

A FB friend's son was working on a tournament fishing boat and took a picture of it. All you could see was the parachute.
