:ack: I hope she's okay!

:sadangel: for the C-4
Edit: :sadangel: for Mrs. Shrek. I assumed she wasn't hurt, but it looks like she was, a little bit. Hope she doesn't start acting like Clark, now. :leaving: |

Mild concussion and she didn't remember much about what happened! Finished the lap in the meat wagon and spent about an hour in the care center while her vitals and memory came back to acceptable levels. Took a couple of days to get everything back to normal. I'm guessing cold track/cold tires on first lap out in turn 6 (lower esses before the bridge) at VIR. Temps were in the low 30's. Mostly cosmetic with a bunch of busted fiberglass, but it did break a tie rod, bent the seat, and shifted the motor. Gonna take some time off and then decide what we're going to do with it. |
Ouch.

Knowing the layout of that car, I have to ask, what did she hit her helmet on???? Was she wearing some sort of HANS? That was a hell of a shot to cause that much damage. Looking at the hit to the front, I'm assuming she went off wide track right and nosed in? If memory serves, in that thing you grab 4th at full throttle, pretty much right on the curbing of the left hander (6a?). Cold tires... cold track... that could certainly cause some problems. I hate to see it like that. If it hit hard enough to shift the motor, I'm worried it might be the end once you start digging into it... |

we keep it pretty light around here and try not to take ourselves too seriously! |
I am sorry to hear about your wife. Glad she is ok.

The back of her helmet was cracked, so I said you must have been looking out the passenger window. She said YES I remember I was looking at the wall coming and thinking OH F*#K! After the impact her head must have whiplashed back and hit the roofline above the drivers window. Yes she "OWNS" a hans! :slap: |
Glad the wife is ok. Sorry to see that car hurt :(

These cars are FAST. No matter how you spin it, they're fast. Things go wrong in a hurry... and often times when you aren't really expecting it (like an out lap). I don't mean to keep throwing questions at you. I try to learn all I can from things like this, especially when it's a car I am so familiar with. If you don't want to discuss, please just tell me to shut up. :D How far moved are the seats from where they were? Was there a sub-belt hooked up? I am trying to remember, but even at 6'1", I don't know that I could have gotten even remotely close to hitting that part of the roofline with my head. It seems like a long way to go. I'll say it again, most importantly, I'm just glad she's ok. :yesnod: |
