Carol Kaye Schools Gene Simmons

Carol Kaye of the legendary Wrecking Crew gives Gene Simmons bass lessons. I know the guy has sold millions upon millions of records but talent has nothing to do with it.

That covers just about every metal band. :yesnod:

Big fan of them growing up. Saw their '79 tour at the Chicago Amphitheater.
Last tour before the split of original members.

Dynasty sucked hella ass though....

Heard stories about Gene using pre-set bass tracks and finger-synching the last few tours. Think it was an interview with Eddie Trunk.

Gene seriously needs to rethink that black cotton candy on his noggin.

Gene is great.

At what, exactly?

Date with Nancy Pelosi > dinner with Porter > Iron Maiden > Gene Simmons & Kiss

I saw the last tour. They're all playing to click tracks to stay synched with the lights, lasers and bombs. At one point the drums got on the wrong measure with the rest of the band, but recovered quickly. At another Genes bass went way out of tune, I don't know if he snagged a string with a part of his costume or what; but I watched him tune on the fly while still keeping up with the song.

They were definitely playing tracks to enhance vocals, but they were all playing their instruments.

What is a click track?
