Tank Sticker

New to Forum. Can someone please give me exact dimensions of a tank sticker. Anywhere I have asked i get crazy answers of 8 1/2 x 11 or 8 x 8 and i know they are not correct for C2 cars.

Thanks,

Paul

You are welcome, My car was a two owner car and sat for 27 years until I tore it down....So I am positive it is the original. It is in pretty bad shape, but intact.

Now if I can just get a response from someone with a 68 or 69 to see if they are the same size. I know they changed the format in 73'...

Tank Sticker Info

I spoke today with Betty Hardison who runs the Library and Archives at National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Betty, confirmed that the size of the Tank Stickers remained the same from 1967 through 1972. In 1973, they changed over to the new landscaped format and larger size.

Very nice of her to help you out. I didn't know you could ask tech questions of the museum like that.:seasix:

Do you plan on making reproductions?

Window and Tank Stickers

Have been reproducing Window Stickers for various 1966 and 1967 Chevrolets for a while and began toying with the tank stickers. I have done a few thus far.

As stated

As stated in our pages. As long as a person requesting a rare or valuable vehicle provides proof of authenticity, there should be no reason to preclude them from enjoying a replacement Window Sticker or Tank sticker for their vehicle.

Wouldn't said window sticker or tank sticker be such 'proof'. Are your reproductions clearly stated on the product?

fsc66 04-10-2014 6:42am

Repro's

No, not stated on the product. I don't think I have seen anyone stating such on their reproductions. Not speaking about the blanks that are sold, I have seen verbiage on the side that can easily be torn off regarding reproductions.

Between 6 5/16" W by 8 7/16" L and 6 5/16” wide by 8 3/8” depending on shrinkage over the years. :seasix:
