One of my regrets was in the early '90s I looked at a survivor silver blue '64 conv. Negotiated the price down to $18k. I don't know why in the world, but I changed my mind at the last minute. It was a great car, good paint, top, interior, running/driving, etc...

Another '64 was sold at silent auction locally. It was all there but in boxes. Someone had started a resto and stopped. I had already restored 2 of them and knew it was complete, etc...The winning bidder got it for $10k. Bolted some of the pieces back together and flipped it on ebay for $30k. I mean he did hardly any work to it. Just put bumpers back on it, seats in it, etc..

Not mine. Just a dreamer. :) FB Marketplace

I have a 1980 trimuter. These are rare. I priced it off what. I have found about this thing it's a three wheels. Car 50 miles to the gallon. They are made of fiberglass and wood and. A mix of Datsun parts not something you will see everyday with that being said. Needs minor work to be back on the road. I'll get pics of the actual one I have if interested. 2500 obo

If I were fortunate enough to get into a "boxes and bins" C2 for 10K there's no way I would let it go. I would build it and love it forever.

It was all there. Just scattered around the garage. I think it was a factory red/red car and even had power windows.

Can't tell for sure but that hood looks awfully like a 63 which is missing the cheese grater inserts. That would make the deal even sweeter!

It was a '64. I looked at it. Good frame, birdcage, body panels, etc...even power windows. The winning bidder just half azz bolted it back together and flipped in on ebay for a $20k profit.

I just wasn't in the mood for a project at the time. I've lost out on several deals for just not being 'in the mood' for one.

'64 hood was the same as the '63, but without the cheese grater inserts. :yesnod:

I'll tell ya one I missed because I didn't know what it was back in the mid eighties. 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II Cale Yarborough Special. It was a 351 4v, auto. Red interior, bench seat. It was in a salvage yard. It was missing the carburetor and right front spindle. I thought it was some custom paint job and had no idea what it really was. Fairly straight and the paint was still good. Could have bought it for $500. Damn.
Looked about the same shape as this one (top pic). I did buy the Boss Ford OEM hood scoop off of it.

I would ramble through every junk yard within 50 miles of me in the early 80s, before 'restoration' and repro parts turned into a billion dollar biz. People wouldn't believe today what I crawled over and discovered. Never had enough money or room to buy and store much of it. They were packed with muscle cars. It all would be worth it's weight in gold these days. People only cared about 30s/50s cars back then. Everything else was just a used car not worth a repair bill. I guess that is why it's worth so much now.

Cale was one of my favs. We went to Daytona every year for the race and I remember him well. Cool car.

Grey Ghost 05-23-2020 9:22pm

Dang! Guess I'm a purist or I'd be all over this beauty...not. And a decent low mile C5 died for it.

$19k

"Replica 1962 Corvette
Built on a very nice 1998 Convertible Corvette chassis with 118K miles.
This is what I would call a CRC knock-off.
The fiberglass body has been bonded on and will need
body work to be completed. Headlights and taillights work.
The interior is original 98 Vette and in very good shape.
LS1 with auto trans - runs, drives, stops and steers.

This car is NOT for the purest... It is a running project."
