"Still Got the Blues" is a rock/blues song by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, composed in 1989.
Cry guitar, cry.. Used to be so easy to give my heart away. But I found out the hard way, there's a price you have to pay. I found out that love was no friend of mine. I should have known time after time. So long, it was so long ago, but I've still got the blues for you. |
I feel lucky that I got to see Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsies in 1970. He is a true guitar god.
|
You know I had to:
|
Moore was an absolute beast player. Parisienne Walkways and Dust my Broom are killer.
|
Think it was Steven Stills that asked Jimi Hendrix if he could see his guitar. Stills claimed he couldn't play a note on it. Hendrix told him that he doesn't use guitar strings, he uses piano strings.
Stills said he noticed that Hendrix had large hands with the longest fingers he ever saw. |

I saw Jimi Hendrix six feet from the stage April 1970. I had all his albums. A great guitarist but not even the close to being the best. His style was different and new but many musicians that play different instruments style will be the first or different. Doesn't mean they were the best.

Different music but Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth and Paco de Lucía were 10x the guitarist than Jimi Hendrix. :yesnod:
