Quaker Steak & Lube

Anyone been to one of these places? They are just about finished building one here, and it looks cool.

We have one and I have been there a number of times. The food is good. They have bike night each week and other automotive and bike related nights.:cert:

My favorite wings place...

A long time ago I LOVED super hot wings, not my thing anymore.

They're Good. Comparable to Chili's, on the National chain circuit.
Better than Buffalo Wild Wings menu choice wise, but the same genre with a gear-head decor.
They may be known more for Adam's Richman's Atomic Wing challenge, but the everyday menu is better than the Man vs Food show special.

Mikey likes it. But that's my opinion.

"Thai R Cracker" and "Buckeye BBQ" - FTW

FWIW, my local Sticky Fingers has a smokehouse genius working there presently. The smoked chicken wings in Savannah are the finest I have eaten anywhere... smoky sweet and juicy inside, and fried "just so" crispy outside. FINE and yes I mean all caps!

Been to one in the Tampa / Sarasota area with forum peeps in the past. Old school themed restaurant, reasonable food, reasonable prices. Don't see any lose with that choice.

Been a few times. Decor is great. Food is average. They do a lot with the local car and bike community!

Havent been to one in years since there are none in the area we live in now.
Always liked them for pretty decent wings and nice car themed decor

That reminds me...We need to go again.

How long ago did you move south?
There is one in Council Bluffs, has been there for a few years now.

Cool place, very forgettable food.
I consider myself a wing connoisseur and they are pretty far down the list.

What establishments would be pretty high up on your list?

Mike Mercury 06-04-2014 7:15am

the few in our region all have Corvette themed rooms.

I'm not one of those people that despises chains...

That said, the best wings I have had have all been from small joints.

Among chains, believe it or not, Buffalo Wild Wings would be well above Quaker Steak & Hooters and the like.
I was rather disappointed with Quaker Steak wings.
It's a rare occasion when we eat there (someone else wants to), but I don't even order the wings.

onedef92 06-04-2014 8:15am

Never heard of 'em. Must be a regional thing? :confused5:

We used to have a local restaurant called Rollo Pollo that served great wings. I think they've since folded, though.

Yeah, I agree on the small joints being way better. We've got a place here in north Florida called Dick's Wings & Grill. Best wings I have had. Unfortunately, they are starting to franchise.
