Nissan Wrap.....no.....not a car....

Anyone had this done ?
Wife has severe gerd and nothing works. Doctor is afraid esophagus cancer is not far behind....needless to say we are afraid and trying to find out if anyone has had this ?.......Thanks in advance...:seasix:

It's called....fundoplication surgery, the upper curve of the stomach (the fundus) is wrapped around the esophagus and sewn into place so that the lower portion of the esophagus passes through a small tunnel of stomach muscle. This surgery strengthens the valve between the esophagus and stomach (lower esophageal sphincter), which stops acid from backing up into the esophagus as easily. This allows the esophagus to heal.

Nissen fundoplication. I haven't had one, seen quite a few. Results are pretty good, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she would have dietary restrictions after that (no carbonated beverages for example). She already tried the acid reducing meds?

As odd as it sounds unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar combats acid reflux pretty well. Of course that's just my personal experience.

well.....we finally went to the Banking and Insurance commission and had to pay $25.00 for the board of doctors to review and OVERTURN the Blue Cross Horizon decisions to deny!!!
The doctors office said this is semi historic as it has never happened with HBC before.
We are waiting to hear back from the doctor in Princeton NJ and the procedure (stretta) should happen either May 3rd or the 17th !
We are scared but happy and looking forward to her feeling GOOD ! Will let everyone know as it goes.

I've heard of the procedure, but that's about it. Haven't heard anything bad about it though. Prayers sent for your wife. I hope it all works out well with her. :cert:

My wife had severe gerd years ago. Brought chest pains.
Doc put her on an oral concoction but danged if we can remember what it
was. Seems your doc would have looked at that though.
We have her on our prayer list for a solution that heals this condition and
returns her to her former good health!

I remember our fears too but hang in there! Work on one day at a time.

Not to belittle her condition at all, but every time I get an upset tummy, mainly from spicy foods....I just drink a tumbler of high dose baking soda, takes the pains right outta there....just don't wander too far from the can, that's all.....

:issues:

:issues:

She has a burned esophagus that they fear will soon be cancer, nothing has worked and there is nothing she has taken that has helped.
It is light years beyond an "upset tummy"
