uncle sugar in true form
So I'm on my 2nd guv project, and started it back in September. I had to do all sorts of forms for background checks, blah blah blah. Today was the super bowl deadline of the project I'm on, and literally 5 minutes after my last data load to fulfill all of my responsibilities on this project...I get a call from the FBI, and an hour later, an in-person interview at my house.
So at the end of the day, I finished the primary directive of my engagement since September (I am on the project until April), I have 2 .guv notebooks for this contract, and even have a 3rd for the first project, and one of the 3 is super high security, and TODAY they do the background interview. |
I got two 24 packs of Diet Coke for $15.00! That's .31 a can!

don't tell them about all your friends here, those guys will spend a month bothering us all.:slap:

you give them a list of people that can vouch for you. they contact them and then ask them who else does Data know. and they go down a few levels until they meet their quota or find dirt. basically they want to assure themselves that Data is trustworthy, honest, has no weird associates  is not deeply in debt or have other bad habits (like race cars) :slap: the higher the clearance, the more checking they do. paper shuffling at its best. |

I had to “vouch” for a US Atty General years ago. Guy asking questions was Barnie Fife and a contractor. WTF Wife still laughs at the ass hat who vetted us  |

I had contractors sit at my kitchen table and ask me about two different folks who were getting top secret clearances, one of whom is now a federal judge. Knowing what I know about the FBI now, I would definitely not invite them into my home or answer any of their questions.
I get that OP had to submit to that because he has a .gov contract, so his case is a little different. Data, I hope you hid any Trump memorabilia you may have before they came calling, lest you lose your contract AND end up on a no fly list. I expect extreme vindictiveness for the next 4 years. Edit: More recently, I had a contractor leave a card on the door. My neighbor's son joined the Army, and he wanted to ask me about the neighbors, generally I guess. By the time I called him back, he said he'd talked to a couple of my other neighbors and didn't need anything from me. |

I wouldn't have to kill you, I'd have to kill myself before divulging. |

I could tell you some crap and we could kill each other. Not really. I do pretty mundane stuff. |
