So the wife wanted to get adventurous last night
 

Driving home from our Father's Day trip to PA, my wife started talking about how she wanted to "try something new tonight". This got my attention immediately...and then I realized she was referring to dinner. :toetap:

She wanted to go somewhere around NYC..."let's just take the next exit and see what we find." :willy:

So here we are in the Bronx, making random turns down streets in the hood. Found a Mehican place that caught her eye, and it had an open parking space right there on the street. Actually it was really good. Had excellent tacos and fajitas for dinner for less than $35. No drink for me since we still had 2.5 hours of driving to get home.

I earned a few points with the Mrs. and as an unexpected bonus, our car was still right where we left it. :Jeff '79::dance:

I eat in the barrio (East LA) all the time. Honestly, I don’t think the food is that hot. Gueros can’t take the heat.

And Courtlandt Ave is lovely this time of year, between the homies with masks hanging off of their chins, and the aroma. The stench of street piss was enhanced nicely by the heat and humidity. :seasix:

Of course! The bars on the windows of the check cashing place tell you it's a very safe neighborhood.
