Air Conditioning Compressor Intermittment Engagement

Have 1992 Vette with 63K miles. When I turn on the A/C the compressor clutch engages then stops then engages again. Any suggestions for fix would be appreciated. Hoping to not have to replace entire unit.

When my car was doing that, it is a sign that the system is low on freon or needs to be recharged.

I used a "auto parts store" recharge kit, it seemed to work but I have to recharge it once a year. There is probably a leak somewhere, but I havent looked into it further...

I agree just low on freon. Most likely a leaky valve easy fix without losing freon with the tool. :seasix:
