It appears that actress Valerie Harper's family has set up a Gofundme to help with the cost of her cancer treatments.

Some celebrity websites report her net worth as being around $12 million. She's been a working actress for a LONG time, earning more than most of us will ever see, sold a house several years ago for ~$4 mil, won a $1.4 million lawsuit against Lorimar for wrongful termination from a show years ago, etc., etc. Her husband is a producer & actor, likely worth a small fortune himself.

Is her husband afraid that there won't be anything left of her $12 mil for him when she's gone, or what?

Besides all that, she's eligible for Medicare.

Let's play a game.

Say you have no morals or scruples, and realize there are potentially millions of fans that would send you money just because they could feel like they are "helping". Let's go further and state that you also hate all these terrible fan people. Now go back and reread the OP.

She is 79 years old. Between Medicare and any reasonable Medicap program I would think most expenses are covered
