Another TRUE Barn find!

Can't believe I just bought another vehicle.....! My wife is going to shoot me:rofl:

This is a true barn find that has been sitting in place for as long as I can remember. Years ago, I was talking to a neighbor about some minor carpentry needed on the farm and was shown this old pickup. Well, it's now mine! It's an F250 '79 Ford pick up!

Yo Zeek!!! I found something for the boat anchor!

Nice! :seasix: How many miles on the odometer?

A neighbor found something like that years ago. Original paint and interior, engine, trans, etc. Hadn't been run in many years. After he had it flatbedded to his house I told him DO NOT try to start it or even turn it over. I helped him over several days to get it ready to start, and once we got there it fired right up and has been running fine since and not burning oil.

Thanks! Odometer reads 85k. yeah it hasn't been touched for ever. It does look bone stock. The owner bought it new he passed away, I got it from his wife. It's just down the street from my house so getting it home shouldn't be hard. I'm not sure of the motor or if it is "useable"...? I do have a 390 cu in looking for a new home! This truck has literally no rust on it. Man, I'm excited!!!

That's awesome! Interior pics!

Those big Ford 6's are torque monsters and run forever. I would clean it up and use it as-is. These were the last of the pre-computer trucks that were pretty much all old-school. Very well built and durable. Worked on many during my mechanic years and they were overbuilt. Nice find!!

Great find. I have a '94 F150 which should be achieving classic status in about 20 years from now. :funny:

Those inline six are a very solid motor, although a 390 would certainly fit in nicely.

The 390 V8 only has 90 CID over that big 4.9 straight 6.

I do have a soft spot for FE Ford V8's, though. Especially in '60-'66 Galaxies.

:iagree:

If there is nothing wrong with that 6 banger, i would leave it where it is and let it do its thing!

Looks like the same truck my dad finally sold a couple years ago with <20k miles on the oddmeter. Almost bought it off him but he wanted too much $$$$$. Was a 5.0 motor w/manual trans and showroom condition. Bought a new Silverado instead.

Little brother had a truck like that w 3 on tree. Drove it and beat the crap out of it Great find 👍

TheHammer 07-19-2022 4:55pm

You'll definitely have thousands of miles on her before Zeek even get's his clap trap running.

I noticed the ceiling but totally did not see the walls. Too busy looking at the truck. Yeah, very cool old building for sure!:seasix:

F250 is a true barn find.

The stone barn is the chit.

That 59 is also very very cool.

The big barn is the real deal.

Nothing but awesomeness all around.
