Since the world is ending today..

Should I just go ahead and start drinking now, or hold off hope and try to make it through the eclipse?:datawiz::shots::D:leaving:

Getting 100% here.

I will probably commit suicide.

Got plenty of liquor here, but I quit drinking in January.

So not sure what to do.

Is it really day drinking if the Sun isn't shining? I'd suggest the OP and others go for it. What could go wrong?

DDSLT5 04-08-2024 9:51am

Just another overcast spring day here.

Onebadcad 04-08-2024 9:51am

If you drink everyday, everyday is a drinking day, therefore one does not have to ask should they drink today!!

NOW THAT'S A NUGGET!!

As Onebadcad's sponser, I have to say that is correct. I remember the first day he walked into class, stood up and proclaimed, "Hi. I'm Onebadcad, and I'm an alcoholic". He was such a mess back then. You've come a long way, kid. I'm proud of you.

Sadly, those AA meetings were scheduled at Happy Hour, so I made the decision that I could manage my behavior better with my friends at the bar vs. nosey strangers at meetings.

Not to worry, I am still going to meeting, just not AA, this is my new pursuit, I do not think I really have a problem, but damn, get place to meet nice ladies in need of help:

As far as the link is concerned, I would imagine the meeting center in Beaverly Hills would produce nicer results than say... oh, maybe Hot Springs, Arkansas?

I would recommend avoiding meetings near retirement communities, bus depots and taxpayer-funded housing.
As I attend more I will be able to provide more tips on the best meeting locales.

I would also recommend a prime parking spot near the entrance of the meeting, as you can view the meeting attendees, based on that you can chose to join.

Although against my cheap bastard budgeting, driving a little further may get you something a little nicer.

One does not want to walk into SA Meeting with only heffalumps in the seats, er I mean concrete bus benches.

Like at a fine steakhouse, you benefit from reviewing the cuts before placing your order.

Why settle for ground beef remnant scraps when you can dine on Kobe Cut??

My 2nd wife was an alcoholic. After we broke up, she went to the AA meetings.

She told me, at some later point, that after the meetings she'd go out with some of the people to a bar and get shitfaced.

Exactly my thought for pursuing SA meetings, as no one can quit cold turkey.

Did everyone make it? Are we in heaven?
