Mrs. DAB (Linda) new car

took her old, 2002, Subaru Forester in for an oil change thursday, after an hour, the service gal comes out, and shows me a mess of notes with recommended repairs, way beyond a simple oil change. about $2500 worth of repairs. ugh.

ok.....no oil change today, i'll take it home and come back tomorrow with Linda and we'll shop for a new one. the old car had 126k on it, might be worth 3-5k in decent shape, so we'll use this as an excuse to get a new one.

i scouted out what they had on the lot, mostly Outbacks, a few new, several used (4k-6k miles, so basically new). she did not want a black, nor a white, as they will always look dirty with our dust and gravel out here. so she selected one that is Autumn Green Metallic, black leather interior, and a sunroof and other goodies.

she's happy, so i'm happy. :DAB:

Reliable car. Mrs. Wiz has had good luck with both her 2017 and her 2020. :yesnod:

Got 20 years out of the last one. :smash:

we spent some time this morning playing with buttons and levers and stuffs. whole lot of features the last one didn't have. stocked in some essentials (jumper cables, tire plugs, inflator) and adjusted the tennis ball in the garage that tells you how far forward to pull to be properly parked. can't go too far forward, or the driver's door will smack into the support column when the door is opened.

then Linda didn't feel well, so we called it a day. side effect of chemo meds (round 2 in progress now).

think i'll sort out the truck next.

at least i don't fuss over water spotted engine parts. :slap:

heck, i might wash it 4 times a year, mostly to get large amounts of mud off it after rain or snow events.

I got one of those monthly memberships to the local car wash and run my truck through it every morning on the way to work.
