MPG thread

Hey folks, here's a thread where you can brag about your good (or not so good!) mileage on your car!!

I know Thud may not believe this, but I got exceptional mileage when I had the Mustang GT (4.6L, 5-speed) with an average of 26+mpg. Now I've got a 2007 Vette convertible with the 6.0L and 6-speed. Was getting around 29mpg for a while and that's probably going to be my average.

BUT, today I went and filled back up again, 404 miles on this tank, and took 12.07 gallons to fill it.
Yes boys and girls, that is 33.47 MPG!!! May be the exception to the rule, but there's no denying the facts! I never pad the pump, and stop right when the pump does, no topping off with this car!

At any rate, please post your averages or what have you!

Paul

Nice average,Paul. :cert: Our 2002 C5 coupe we average 32.9 on the highway with stops, not just cruising on the highway. Our C6 Z on the highway is averaging 25.8 in the same scenario.

Most of my driving is back and forth to work daily and Liz taking it to school on Thursdays and Tuesdays, usually get around 23-25mpg.

Yes, that mileage is in the ball park. On trips I regularly get about 31.2 with an overall mileage of around 26. I don't do much around town driving.

I could do that if I drove that slow.

Before my supercharger, I got 29 combined highway/city for a 7,200 + round trip from Boston to California, Rockies included.
After the supercharger, I average 26 3/4 to 27 on the highway, if I do less than 10 over, otherwise it can be in the 21-23 range.

Anyway, let's compare apples to apples and state at what speed your average is accomplished.

I use "Fuelly.Com" to keep track of my road trips. I have over 17+K miles tracked on my GS Centennial Coupe (Manual) with a 23.7 MPG average with a best of 27MPG. My C5 Ragtop (3.15 gears) has 9+K tracked miles with an average of 24.5 and a best of 28.1. All are true numbers and not the DIC average.

I get 12 in my 5.0 and 19 in the C4

I'm usually doing 5-10 over whatever posted limit is!

Almost every bit of my driving is combined. Most about 45-50 in town, and 79-75 highway.
