Gene, that's Dupont Circle. Do you have something to tell the group?

And idiots want them everywhere.

Actually, they work pretty well when people understand them. We have six on the main road (North to South) on our island. No stop lights or signs. All you have to remember is yield to cars coming from your left side in the rotary. The biggest problem is people stopping when they don’t need to causing cars to stack up behind them. We get a lot of tourists here and those are usually the ones that don’t understand how it works

Sorry man age 77 here gone some 24 years from that region, I know of the circle and forgot the name.....oh well.....

:issues:

MadInNc 04-28-2021 4:25pm

I drove in Italy from Modena to Lake Como on back roads.... roundabout every 1-2 km. Was dizzy

Rodnok1 04-28-2021 4:25pm

Roundabouts suck monkey balls... People entering mostly think they don't have to yeild to cars already in the circle jerk. They put one on a busy truck route worked out fukin awesome...

They work when you’re not totally brain dead.

A lot of drivers in the USA are not familiar with roundabouts or rotaries.
They aren’t that common here. As a result, they don’t understand how they work and end up doing stupid shit when faced by one.

We've got those stupid things all over here now. One is a double that I drive through daily.

Bill 04-28-2021 5:54pm

We have a few in the H-Town area, including one on either end of the tunnel under the Ship Channel. That's an industrial area, so everybody's an old pro with them, they know what to do, no issues. I have seen issues at another one closer in town. The saving grace there is, the roundabout is brick paved.....it's so rough people really have to slow down. When I saw a potential issue happen, the driver that had the right of way was going slow enough he were able to just stop and let the clueless drivers force his way in without incident.

That's the problem. Too many brain dead people around that have to use them.

And they don't tell people how to use them.

You can be on our island within 30 miles of entering the state off I95. How many signs do we need to put up explaining how things work?
