I was in HS biology class when it was announced over the PA...sad day.

I was in third grade when the principle came oner the P.A. and told us the president had been shot. About 45 min. later she came back and told us he was dead. School was cancelled for 5 days. A sad time for this country.:sadangel::halfmast:

Born on the 18th.1963
Went home from the hospital as a newborn 57 years ago today.

I was about 6 weeks old, so I don't remember seeing it on the news.

Same here. I was in 3rd grade in San Diego. Got the message over the PA and we were sent home.
My mom and I were lucky to see him in '62 when he toured San Diego. He drove by in the motorcade while we were on the sidewalk.

I was a senior in high school but do not remember what class I was in. They announced it over the PA system and sent everyone home.

I was 3-1/2 years old so not a specific memory. :sadangel:

College class, after some activity with the prof......class dismissed pretty much on time.....Univ of Md. College Park Md....just off US1 north of DC.....

and upon leaving class a bunch of students listening to a port radio....block the hallway...I pushed my way around them saying something about the radio...and they said Prez was shot, I said BS, they said NO, LISTEN!!!!

spent the next several daze in the dorm listening to TV......phones jammed with calls, so no contact with family/folks.....

after nearly a week, Dad showed up and I went home for a week+.....

I was a twinkle in my daddy's eye.

We only had 7 channels back then. And for 2 days that all that was on Television. That sucked as a kid.

10 years old, I was in 5th grade.
There wa a tv in the room, and the teacher turned
it on after the announcement was made. Walter Chronkite
was narrating a bunch of breaking news from his ear piece,
but it didn't make much sense until I got home.
I don't recall how long we stayed at school, perhaps 30 minutes,
but we were dismissed early that day.

My mom was 9 years old at the time.

I was in 3rd grade in Chula Vista, CA......(San Diego)

4 years old back then.....
