Yes. The carpenter bees had drilled some little holes. We have been caulking those but the peckerwoods were hungry.

So the two bird demo crew are pileated woodpeckers. They are protected. I hope they enjoy the music I have playing on the porch for them. They are eating the carpenter bee larva and ants. I bought them some suet and hung it in a tree. They are probably mates and have a nest nearby.

We have 2 pair near us. They are not fearful of humans at all! They also talk a lot...sound like giant squirrels shrieking at each other.
