Why the hell did I buy a VW?

I had such a bad experience with the lemon of a Yukon Denali, I some how convinced myself German cars couldn't be any worse. Maybe?

I bought my wife a new Atlas Cross Sport, she put 9,000 mostly trouble free miles on it, only to have the radio/infotainment system to die.

Car is now sitting at the dealership with no estimated fix date as the parts needed are on global backorder. :banghead: to make things worse, no loaner or rental cars available through any of the local dealerships. That's what I get for not buying the Audi instead I guess :banghead:

T-26 days to Lemon Law the VW.

Your VW was built in Chattanooga, TN.

It was assembled there yes, apparently this infotainment will still come out of Germany.

Can you just have an aftermarket radio installed? I would prefer to do that and keep on trucking.

Infotainment handles all the car settings too. Also no way am I spending that much coin on a new car to have to modify it just to work, while still under warranty.

Checked the Crutchfield website, they recommend Not replacing the factory head unit. So yeah, you must lose a lot of functionality without a genuine VW radio.

Probably GM coming back to haunt you since there's a good chance that module is made by Aptiv.

I'd never buy a German vehicle made outside of Germany.

The radio keeps you from driving the car? Glad my Porch has buttons.

It's my wifes car, she commutes 2hrs a day, no way will she do that without radio, navigation, back up cameras, and without being able to adjust the drivers aids if needed.

Lemon Law counts days (30) without the car or loaner, I will lemon law this car before we go 6 months without a radio in the car. The only way to lemon law the car is have it at the dealership with them attempting to fix it.

They gave us a loaner 3 days shy of the 30 days and fixed the car about a week after that…that said VW has offered a settlement :yesnod:
