Spring Steam Up at Rough and Tumble
Today ( Saturday May 11) was last day of the Spring Steam Up at Rough and Tumble. The weather cooperated better today than yesterday as it didn't rain.
An added plus was getting to meet one of the guys from the Vette Barn. John Smith made a special trip to the show and introduced himself. ( I forgot his forum name :banghead: ) It was good to meet him and he said it was worth the trip. Videos in this post and pictures to follow :seasix: We got the 10" Rider hot air running. It is a water pumping engine and takes three of us to start it after about 45 minutes of preheat time. My Olds was running very well too. I used a garden tractor battery to power the buzz coil and it worked great. Started right up :hurray: 6 hp Otto Here's a couple of the steam tractors that were out. The one in the back belching smoke is running the saw mill and the one in the front is on the dyno. Here's Roger's 40 hp Reeves two cylinder. He put in new piston wrist pin bushings and it runs great. |

There is a reason that America is the greatest country on earth, and it is because of stuff like that. I have to be honest, I sat here like a goober with a huge smile on my face watching the steam engines.:seasix:
