Does anyone here take baths ?

We took our tub out and made a nice walk in shower....had the tub for 24 years and it was hardly used as a tub.
When it's not freezing out we use the outside shower . We would use the outside all winter too if I didn't need to shut the water off to the spigots (4) and the shower supplies too.:seasix:

Yes, when I sold my 2006 Mustang, I had to take a bath just to get rid of it

I have a big Jacuzzi type tub in the master bath and I think it has been used about 4 times since 2007 and not once since my divorce. I want to replace it with a huge shower, but I'm sure it's out of my budget.

When I plumbed this place in 1981 I put in a shower stall. I was 31, my mom would have been 66.

She commented during the process when they were here: "You know Brucie, when you get old you might like to have a tub."

Me, thinking: "Yeah Mom, what do you know."

Boy was she right. I'd love to have one now.

Why would anyone want to slosh around in their own dirty water when you can wash it away in a shower?

Some things are easier (better?) in a warm bath than a shower

(all things being equal of course)

The Japanese protocol is to shower before a bath. Not only that, they keep the bathwater in the tub for reuse. Sounds gross to me. Point is the bath isn't about getting clean, probably more a relax I guess.

I have one of those too, along with a stand alone shower my dad nicknamed the goldfish bowl when he first saw it. I wouldn't use a tub unless it was for something therapeutic, like a sitz bath, or maybe a bleach water bath for poison oak or sumac.

At 73, if I had a tub, I would use it for comfort. I've tossed the idea around for years now of renting a motel room just so I can use the tub. Probably will never do it, but I think about it.

When I was in my early 20s I had an apartment with an old claw foot tub. I'd make up a jug of highballs and go soak for hours. I could turn the hot water on, as needed to keep the tub hot, with my foot.

As good as that felt in my 20s, I'm quite sure it would feel a zillion times better now.

Everyday, Quick rinse off shower, then soak for 45 minutes

kingpin 02-09-2024 6:48pm

I love a hot bath. After sitting in it for 10 minutes I turn the hot water on full and get it super hot. I do that 5 or 6 times. Hell sometimes I even take a nap for an hour or so.
I'm way too wide in the shoulders to fall into the water when sleeping.
That super hot water seems to relax my bad nerves in my neck and legs.

I take a cold bath to shrink my junk. That way I can feel what it's like to be a Leftist

My master bath has a 1980’s brown Kohler jet tub and in almost 15 years I never used it.
It has some issue that it doesn’t shut off and I have to close the breaker in the basement.

Onebadcad 02-09-2024 7:13pm

You cannot spit tobacco in a tub,,,

Cool 50th AE 02-09-2024 7:15pm

I don’t want to bathe with floaters or submarines. :Jeff '79:

Yep, I've napped too back in the day. The highballs might have had something to do with it.
