In furtherance of this operation, under the stated authority, I hereby authorize the Secretary of Defense, and the Secretary of Homeland Security with respect to the Coast Guard when it is not operating as a service in the Navy, under their respective jurisdictions, to order to active duty any units, and any individual members not assigned to a unit organized to serve as a unit of the Selected Reserve, or any member in the Individual Ready Reserve mobilization category and designated as essential under regulations prescribed by the Secretary concerned, not to exceed 3,000 total members at any one time, of whom not more than 450 may be members of the Individual Ready Reserve, as they deem necessary, and to terminate the service of those units and members ordered to active duty.

This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

20 years of AD retired here...not eligible for recall either. :dance:

I tried to go back in when a few years ago and they said no because of my PTSD rating. Plus I’m way past the IRR time.

Reservists are only supposed to be called up in times of natural disaster or actual war. Disrupting lives and families by calling up reserves isn't something to be done lightly.

I was an IRR pilot after retirement in the 90's. It's basically something you sign up for, request a specific unit and place. Most of the time you get what you want. As an IRR flyer, you were basically responsible to keep yourself current.

I took some refresher courses, management and such all over the place and enjoyed the sights on the side. Courses and such had a set time requirement but if I was going to help out a flying unit, was usually about a month.

Other than that, I don't know wtf they do now.

They turned my ID off after about 15 years on IRR. They’d be surprised at my current hourly rate:rofl:

This is done because Congress limits the numbers on the Regular component differently than they do the Reserves. It’s a numbers game where POTUS can only increase Reserve Active Duty personnel without Congress.
