Help! Key Fob fix please!
 
Can someone post the information for taking apart and resoldering the older key fobs? Mine is of the 1998 variety, and it is constantly losing it's link with the car.

Disassembly is pretty straight forward, here's the components to help;

You want to clean the carbon buttons and contacts;

Make sure the battery contacts are clean and make good contact (two pads on the right side);

OK Here's the common joints that come loose, they are on the chip but pry on every joint to see what else is loose;

Solder all the loose contacts and you should be good to go!

FYI I should point out that the "silver can" on the upper left corner of the board is the rattle can that activates the Passive feature on the earlier C5s. Just in case some one opens theirs up and says... "Well, there's the problem, I'm missing sumptin!" :cheers:
