Hurricane Michael - Florida peeps, are you prepared?

watching weather channel, 8-12 foot storm surge expected. tonight. Gov says leave NOW, not tomorrow morning.

Sea Six 10-09-2018 2:40pm

I am the southernmost house in the United States at this particular longitude. Right on the water.

I am in a trailer in my front yard that is not tied down (5th wheel camper 'cause we turned the water off for my house due to bathroom remodeling).

I have 36 Natural Lights, a full 1.75 liter bottle of Crown Royal, and a little bit of Crown left in a .75 liter bottle.

Plenty of food. Gas (propane) stove, propane fridge and a good batt-try.

I ain't going anywhere.

Not kidding.

Y'all are invited to my hurricane party.

Oh, and I'm south of US Highway 98, so I'm in the mandatory evacuation zone.

Which is for puzzies.

So you've been thrown out of all the KOAs north of there?

I’m on the other side (East) just north of Jacksonville. Currently all they are calling for us is rain and winds up to 30 mph

Take care Clark

I'm good to go! :cert::datawiz:

Say goodbye to your trailer. :leaving:

Sea Six 10-09-2018 3:00pm

I'm on the good side of the storm (west side by about 100+ miles).

North winds around 39 mph should be all we'll see here. South winds at 39mph feel like 50 mph. North winds of 39 mph feel like.. 15-20. Tops.

Storm surge at my house should be less than 1'. There is a barrier island between me and the Gulf of Mexico. I'm on an inland waterway.

We'll probably see 2-3" of rain.

Meh. I've lived here all my life. Survived every hurricane that came my way starting with Hurricane Camille in 1969.

Bring it.

Even worse.

When I got through with my shenanigans, they had to close them all down.

I closed up the Florida home and we are in NH until after Christmas helping my daughter with her first child. No problem for me except the cold up here.

Come on down!

I drink Natties because I don't like them. I switched to them a while back because I thought it might make me drink less beer.

[stage whisper] it hasn't worked [/sw]
