By the way Mr. Smartypants, EXPRESSO is the way they spell it in Italy, Spain, and France, and here in Canada quite often, and Italy is where they invented it! :p

Hey Mr. P......I wasn't sure what was making the racket but I was pretty sure the AC comp. was toast, and a new one is around 250-300$ . I found a bypass like in the pic this morning for 60$ and installed it....that was it. Nice and quiet now. Sounded like it had a blower on it before.

I actually thought you folks up there disconnected them during the spring, fall and winter.

In San Francisco, it's common for people to special order a new car without AC because you really don't need it there. Or at least it used to be common anyway. I don't even know if that's possible nowadays. My brother's stepdaughter once leased a Mitsubishi Eclipse special ordered with no AC when she was going to SF State College. About a month after she got the car she got a scholarship to Arizona State University. It cost my brother a lot of money to get her out of that lease.:yesnod:

Espresso or expresso? The x spelling actually has considerable historical precedent
