At my local Chebby place

1 Attachment(s)
2021 Vert.
88k MSRP
High wing, ground effects, and "Market Adjustment" $25k
Total $113 plus

I'll wait for the Z

I'm shocked any dealer has one in stock not already sold.

It's not the first car to have that, and it won't be the last. Supply and demand works.

To be fair, they also have a 2020 2LT "Marked Down" to $99.9k from $122.5.

The price offered is the reason they have one in the showroom to sell, vs. being like everyone else and having NO Corvette to sell. And once they sell that one, they'll be just like every other dealer, with nothing to sell.

So yeah, I can see they'd want to maximize the profit on that one. It's not like they're going to be a volume Corvette dealer with repeat business. They've got one, and that's it.

When the Viper came out happened to be at Dodge dealership, 15k extra charge.
Guy bought it when I was there and demanded it be removed from the floor and nobody else was to sit in it. I can see his point but think they just roped it off and had somebody standing by it until he picked up.

The most I ever paid for a car was MSRP (no trade in) for my 98 C5 Vert 6spd.
Verts and 6sps were on constrain that year so i paid that price to a local dealer in Albany area. It was a ordered by me vehicle!

My last Vette (15) came from Kerbeck with a significant lower than MSRP price

Over MSRP let some one else pay it I wont.

Just not loving the new vette looks

dvarapala 09-15-2021 3:13pm

What sort of markup do they have on the Bolts? :popcorns:

Oh, wait... :leaving:

Someone with a shiny new oriental car complimented my Vette the other night. Not sure what he had, was generic/luxury looking with a Z badge on the side. Nodded in the affirmative and told him I'm looking forward to getting antique plates soon :D

DAB 09-15-2021 3:37pm

i'd rather have a new truck.

I hear there's a fire sale on them right now.....or maybe they're on fire and for sale right now....either way.

People will pay $100 per brick for a house so they can put any price they want on a car. Someone is going to buy it.

This is Tennessee, a 100k tractor would be gone in one day.

Drive one in anger on a track and you'll understand.

I agree for those owners that actually track their Vette. However the VAST majority of owners never get over 100 on the interstate. And then there are the garage queens that only go out once in a while to try to impress others.

Val and I do our part to represent the owners who drive in anger...at extremely high levels...to exploit, and share those exploits with the rest of the forum.

After 750 miles, and nearly a month of ownership, the C8 is SO FAR ahead of anything Chevy has ever produced, it's not even comparable.

I will report again, with video and observations, from actually driving in anger this weekend at the track. :seasix:
