Lexus RC-F

This is where my brain is at, at the moment. I want the track edition, but the extra expense, while manageable is fine, but you can't get black.

A fully loaded performance edition in black as I configured is about $87k. 472 hp, and exceptional interior. The thread I just posted was in a run of the mill RC 350.

2020 Supra with 335 hp for 55k vs. the RC-F with 472 hp for 87k is kind of a no brainer. The car can be had for 10k less by removing options, but I want all of the racing spec stuff.

Time will tell...C8 or RC-F.

I'd LOVE to have the Lexus LC500 (with the same hp as the rc-f), but it's 100+k

With August being the finish line for GWiz college fund, I'm definitely getting the itch.

Looked at M4's, and maybe the M4 CS, but Lexus continues to provide value.

You've already had a Vette. You've enhanced/repaired it beyond so many other folks.

You've not done that with an RC-F.

More, you're gonna enhance whatever you get any way so why not the RC-F.

It’s a Toyota, yawn. Kinda boring, might as well be driving a refrigerator or some other household appliance.

I love the honesty.

Honestly, I have no clue what to buy. I'm going to be in the position to buy, and nothing just grabs me as "this is the car I want". Supra fucked that up.

The RC-F is not a Camry. Well, maybe if ya shoe-horned a V8 into the Camry and tweaked the shit out of the rest of the car, I'd at least look at it. But then, the RC-F already exists.

Also, I've driven an RC-F. It's a fun car, for me.

I’m just not seeing a $100k car, I don’t see it being in the same class as an m3 or an m5.

Sure it might check all the boxes and hold value and be good-ish in performance, but you take that to the valet and you may as well be driving a Riced out Camry.

I don't give a fuck about valets, and this would be about 87k.

Based on my experience, it would last WAY longer than any Corvette in reliability.

For the record, the C8 is still in the hunt. I'm not far from pulling the trigger on the next steed.

Your dislike of Toyota is showing. But that's ok. We all have cars/brands we like/dislike.

More, I think the Lexus LX 570 has plenty of options and rides smoother than many cars. Yet, there's no fukking way I'm paying $100k for that or any SUV.

Wife says that all Lexus are sporting this look nowadays up front.

What about a BMW M2 or Mercedes Benz AMG GTS.

You've clearly never driven one.

I had a C6 for 10 years, and now I have an IS-F. I don't miss my C6 at all.

That has been my experience. My C6 had a whole laundry list of problems, and was in the deslership service bay at least once per year. My IS-F has only been in the shop for routine maintenance and one safety recall. :yesnod:

Hmmmm...I might have just found my next car:

Remember the thread I started about racing one of these things? Holy shit, the price is right in my wheelhouse. Just wish I could get black. :sadangel:

Brand New Lexus RC-F for 87k, 2016 M4 GTS with 500 hp, 3200 pounds, and 2-3k miles, and quite likely future collectibility? At 80k, I'm all over that like white on rice. :yesnod:

Since it's out of warranty, I hope you have another $80K for repairs. :D

Including the forthcoming 2nd engine swap this winter into the 2008, coupled with the original purchase price, all upgrades, repairs, and racing expenses, I'm pretty sure the total money spent on that car from date of purchase until this winter is pretty close to $260-270k. :leaving:

Craig, no matter what your decision is, I have full confidence that you can break it! You have my full support!:D:datawiz:
