Fairly easy to replace, but expensive. I paid about $900 for the driver-side one on the '09.

ouch.

I remember when the C6 first came out someone said you had to buy the entire headlight assembly. Is that still true?

Pop up headlights don't have that problem! Also, you can't get a factory cassette tape player in a c-6, so there's that, too.

My 04 Ranger's lights are still crystal clear. The secret? It has never been through a commercial car wash, and never been washed using anything but dish soap. I live in the deep South and it sits sweltering on my dirt driveway in the yard as I do not own a garage. Of course the paint is pretty dead but the light lenses look terrific.

Over the long term, pop-up headlights have their share of other problems. The reason for the fixed headlights on the C6 was they took 30 lbs off the weight of the car among other things.
