Opinions needed/Car for sale

Buddy of mine has a father whose Alzheimer's has taken him to assisted living. He is looking to sell his father's 2014 3LT manual convertible (no park assist cameras). 3 owners, 12,300 miles, accident damage reported on Carfax w/o airbag deployment (left front and right rear). CarFax places a retail value of $37,360. KBB says $39,700 to $42,700 but does not include the accident history. What say VBOT? And if anyone is interested in it PM me and I'll get you in touch.

(C7 Gen and Classifieds have not had a post since April so I went here.) :-D

I’m no expert but based on those numbers I’d put it at 34-35k and get rid of it, the longer you hold it the more you pay in insurance and the value goes down anyway.

On a related note I got a text from a friend last night, a friend of theirs is trying to sell a 12 GrandSport convertible with 19k miles for $37.5 - I think he’ll have that car for a while

It's hard to say how much of a hit C7 values will take with the arrival of the C8, but if I was a buyer I would certainly use that for negotiation purposes.

Looks like a nice car.

After looking at dealer listings for 2014 low mileage stick ragtops, I am thinking CarFax is not far off.

:cert:

That seems to be the way things are shaping up. I'll advise him. Thanks!

Ask low 30's to move it, if someone offers 30, jump on it. If not, it'll just sit. Lots of C7's out there for sale.

Wish I could jump on that. Looks like a great car. You buy it now so I can buy it from you in a couple of years. :D

Well.......that's not too far off of an idea, I've been giving some thought about putting a pole barn on the back acre. Still mulling style, access/egress driveways, power, maybe plumbing, etc. However, cost may decide the final decision to build or not. Just in the pre-planning stage now.
