Its a little more laid back as far as the electronics go, freshwater isnt as hsrsh, and boats are stored half the year.
The "crappy" billets are in Virginia.
there are far worse places to be, IMO.

Yes, search and rescue, law enforcement, and servicing aids to navigation.
make no mistake though, there are not nearly the assets devoted to the lake as the gulf. For instance, my area of responsibility here vs. Houston has roughly the same amount of coast line, but in Buffalo I only have 13 small boats, whereas Houston, we had 86 small boats and four patrol boats.
