Mine is heads and shoulders above this example. :yesnod:

Wish I still had it, but moving forward, C8 for me. Toyota let me down.

I have nothing to add, but that is a substantial amount of currency.

There were reasons why that one went for such crazy $$$, not every Supra would go for that:

This exquisite looking Supra is the Anniversary Edition that was only made in 1997 and has the Targa roof of which only 376 built in total had that feature in this color. It also has a manual transmission, which is a major boost in desirability.

Um, mine had all of that, and was the last year ever (only 3-spoke steering wheel), and still only has 14k miles and is in bone stock condition. Last I heard it sold again for $110k a few years ago.

um, wan't talking about your car, was clarifying why the one that sold went for that. I wouldn't have any way to know what your car did or didn't have in it, I gave up my stalking career many years ago and you weren't on the list ;)

Looking at sales figures for the Supra, assuming you had a '98, there were over 1200 made, so the '97 that was sold potentially more rare, especially since '97 was the anniversary edition.

AE models are bunk. I also had a '96. Automatic only. 12k cars over the entire lifecycle? They are unicorns. They are all expensive. Mine was a WAY better example, quite possibly in the top 1-2 percent of survivors.

A80
Mk IV

[81]

1993 2,901
1994 3,405
1995 2,266
1996 852
1997 1,379
1998 1,232

Total 12,059

Not all are expensive.... most aren't actually, at least compared to the one that just recently sold, in fact nowhere near that price.

And they're all crap to be honest, scarcity and the ricer crowd who like Fast/Furious probably drove up the prices.

40-50K for 100K+ mile cars? Mine has 14k. Bone stock is the other major attraction. :seasix:

Like i said, their popularity due to a movie or small group of fans doesn't make them good cars, it just makes them over priced crap. :)

#2 most "hilariously" over priced car according to jalopnik back in 2017
