California to ban new natural gas furnaces and water heaters

CARB panel voted unanimously to recommend banning of all new natural gas furnaces and water heaters by 2030. Gas stoves are not included.
Wonder if applies to commercial and residential as can't see that being good for businesses at all.
Thoughts?

More of the blind political focus on 'clean' electricity, which there was a big push for in the 50's and 60's when we had nukes and cheap electricity.
I have two gas water heaters at my house and when I need new ones they too will be gas.
CA also passed a law 3 years ago that all new homes must have solar. Even places on the coast where the sun never shines.
Wishing the climate to change and thinking man can do it is like wishing my hair would grow back. It's a nice thought, but it ain't happening.
How about CA banning crime by 2035? That's just as realistic. Oh, wait...

California - not enough electricity so let’s ban gas cars, furnaces and water heaters. Who supports this idiocy?

I've said it before---my cousin in NC pays 6 cents per kwh of electricity. I pay 49 cents per Kwh.

If I have to heat my house with electricity I'll burn wood in a stove first.

My summer AC bills this year were $620 to $530. For the past ten years here they have been $175-$250.

**** Joe Biden and **** Gavin Newsom. :seasix:

I live in the same state as you and my gas and electric bill average between 25-35 a month with one free month a year, maybe you you should move.
I never seen more people worring about a state that they don't even live in. :Jeff '79:

Just label gas furnaces as machine parts and ship them in under cover of darkness.

State is run by idiot libs. What do you expect?

You guys just don't understand. In the land of fruits and nuts, when you replace a gas water heater with an electric one, the electricity comes from fairy farts and Unicorn piss, so it's totally green!

The state voted in these Libidiots. They're getting exactly what they want.

When I lived on the coast, my bill was about $40 per month. No need for AC at all. Here, in Central CA, life depends on it.

The people of California now have the government and society they have voted for over the decades. Let them enjoy it.

Suck it up, people 50-60 years ago didn't even have A/C in Central CA. :Entropy:

I Know I have posted this b-4, but some friends have a YEUGGE house out in western VA, south of W. Va. and their electric was running them between 400-900/month, so spent ~60k bux for a YEUGGE solar panel setup on their south facing hillside.....electric went to 200/month right away....they even back feed the company, like another generator....:confused5::dance::seasix:

Problem is, that “progressive” chit trickles out to the rest of the country. Somehow, California is seen as the harbor of what is necessary.

As I posted in the worse state thread, California is the absolute worse. And this is a large reason.
