My prediction is USC ...this years Championship winner :yesnod:
so let it be written so let it be done....

Anjdog2003 09-14-2022 1:56am

It would definitely be a National Championship every year if we could schedule Big 10 teams.

USC vs the Big 10 69-29-2)

This should bring in the mad man Gary Finn :Jeff '79:

That would be nice.

1985 USC grad here.

Onebadcad 09-14-2022 9:54am

Being that they play in a girl's conference, they could be The Girly Champions.

NOGAS about west coast not-football, since 1984 BYU has won the same amount of National Championships as every west coast conference combined,,, yeah, something to think about.

Does the Utes co-championship from the 2008 season when they were with the MWC count..?

sublime1996525 09-14-2022 10:00am

Also, Utah plays USC in a month. I'm looking forward to that game!

I only counted / viewed undisputed champions, I believe the west coast confereneces had two since 1984 but both were co-champions.

In 2003 there was LSU and usc.
In 1991 there was MIAMI and wash.

Anyway you look at it, west coast college football is not really football, it is a great insomnia cure on a Saturday night.
I am very certain you could take a team of FL High School All-Stars and beat at least half the teams in pac-12.
You can argue this, but their record and past performance IS THE OBJECTIVE MEASUREMENT.

oregon with all their hype and all of that knight money have never won crap, their moral victories are showing up for games against the SEC and leaving without coffins on the sidelines.

I am a HUGE UTAH UTES FAN when they play the paid professionals from usc.

Last week I thought USC looked like an OU Lite and I guess that is to be expected. At OU Riley cranked out first round pick Heisman QBs and lesser QBs that became impact players at other teams via the portal. The offensive stats were great but there were no playoff wins. They needed to score 50+ points a game to overcome the weak defense.

Unfortunately for USC Riley took the OU DC with him along with the offensive talent. Good luck with that. Grinch implemented an aggressive style defense at OU. The fans were excited but unfortunately the aggressiveness resulted in lots of unnecessary mistakes and penalties. I think it's likely USC will win their conference easily but I expect Riley to keep his playoff record intact for a while.

Doesn't matter if they took the National Championship away they won it in 2004 convincingly 55-19 over OU. Which was the biggest crock of shit. Some alumni paying rent for a players family 100 miles away from the campus.

Onebadcad 09-14-2022 12:45pm

The NIL will give even more advantages to the perennial powers, usc will join this list, as a whole lotta money in socal, riley was very wise to leave ou for greener pastures as comparison to norman was part of the hook to get him to trojantown.

riley may be able to restore usc's long-gone dominance, but the NIL will be the primary influencer, as evidenced by addison.

Reggie Bush played 20 years too soon,,,

I do not make the rules, the rules suck, but at least they suck consistently; I agree with you, as osu kept their stolen and paid for title in 2002, and I see clarett's crimes as MUCH MORE SEVERE than bush's, AND I also believe tressel as MUCH MORE complicit, as clarett NEVER stepped foot inside a classroom, yet was giving ALL passing grades.

UMiami waited three years to get penzlized, that was the biggest crock of shit EVER in college football, it destoyed their program.
And in the end it was no different than what goes on in every program.
For instance, the texas longhorns OL goes out on Sunday afternoon to eat at a booster's restaurant, does anyone really think they pay, and does anyone really think it does not happen everyplace else.

The stupid thing is when one booster does too much, to avoid the ncaa just spread it out, and now with NIL you have a new weapon to obscure the payments to players--do not see how the ncaa will differentiate payments vs. endorsements, what a joke!!

Clarett's crimes? How about Terrell Pryor and his gang when the head coach Sweater vest Jim Tressel knew what was going on. USC lost 30 recruits and fOSU lost 9

All Universities cheat and always have, some get caught some don't. But USC's was the worst punishment and the crime wasn't as bad as other Universities in the past.

Paying rent by an alumni for a home 100 miles from the campus for Reggie Bush's parents not Reggie Bush.

Lost the National Championship
Lost the Heisman
Lost 30 Recruits.

And you know alumni's and coaches pay and cheat to get a good athlete to come to their university every year. Been like that before Knute Rockne. :yesnod:
