Good question? So I went out to see if i could get mine to come out. No joy. Did not want to pull on them to hard, as I would have to go get replacements. I thinking maybe a special puller tool maybe. :bilmem:Owners manual says for bulbs not listed see dealer. Not!

Even went to the Online Chilton Manual. Nothing. Dam.

I talked to the vendor I bought them from and he said the easiest way was to loop dental floss around them. Off to dental :)

wwomanC6 01-06-2011 2:04pm

Dental floss, hun! Let me know if it works.

Dental floss totaly sux, worked with for about 30 minutes on one of the map light bulbs and nothing, tryed fishing line too, same results. Looked around and found a roll of 2" 3m masking tape, ended up wraping the bulb with that and it poped right out. Was a little cramped from spending that much time in the front of the car so i went to the back, used a set of gloves and poped those out and in, overall if i had used tape in the first place, probably could have done the whole car in under 15 minutes. Here's a few pic's..

I have a small pair of needle nose vice grips with the tips wrapped in tape. Adjust the size of the pliers to the bulb size so you do not crush it.

Lemme look for a picture.

Omega Man 01-06-2011 8:57pm

Check it:

Make sure you do not crush the bulb. The pliers i have in the picture are fully closed with the jaws already adjusted.

hope this helps.

That would have worked, but I let someone borrow mine a few days ago and they have yet to return them. Now for the covers under the dash and hood do they pop off with a micro srcrewdriver?

Omega Man 01-06-2011 11:54pm

Yes, that will work fine. Just don't force them. That is how I did it.

navyndi2 01-07-2011 10:57pm

chit, broke the under hood led and cause it didn't light, and i can't seem to get the under dash light covers off what's the trick?

We just replaced the interior bulbs with LED's. Example, the rear-view mirror bulbs: I used a rubber hose that had a slightly smaller inside diameter than the outside diameter of the bulb. I slid the hose over the bulb and the bulb came right out.

Have you checked at O'Reilly's or AutoZone or an online part store? I'm sure they have replacement lights and bulb. If not a dealer should have them.

If your adding more interior lights, you might need to take in to consideration the additional battery draw and plan that in to the mod.

Bucwheat 05-17-2013 10:00am

I just took my foot well lights out to replace them with LED lights and I didn't have that much trouble ,guess I have a good grip.
