Except buy a KitchenAid 1/2 horsepower for about $210-$240. Mine's been going for about 10 years; the previous one lasted almost 20 years.

Why even have one? We had ours removed when we remodeled the kitchen.

The only time I've had one was in a rented apartment. It didn't work.

If you have an ACE Hardware in your area, their house brand disposal is made by Badger, a very good brand. It's much cheaper for the ACE brand.

Badger isn't a manufacturer....It's just a product line name of InSinkErator.

Old house was nearly 20 years with the same disposal. New house in on year 12.

I use the hell out of them and have only purchased 1 in my life, for the old house.

It would have kept going but something punched a hole in the side. Probably a bone.

Never had one until we moved to Florida. Since we always lived places that had septic tanks.

When we got the place in Florida we never used it and it died. Second house we bought we had it pulled out since it had died as well.
