My world just imploded
Not only am I in the beginning stages of a divorce, but I just lost my job two hours ago.
Absolutely devastating. As a 53 year old white male with no college education I am about the least marketable person on the planet. The level of "screwed" I am right now is immeasurable. |
Holy shit dude. Hang in there.
|
So sorry to hear that. :sadangel:
The usual cliches may be true, but I will spare you the horse shit of repeating them right now and just say except for the divorce part (never been married) I have been there and gone through suck ass times and it has always been temporary. :cert: |
Damn, either one of those alone would be bad. Sorry you got to go though that.
|
Bad news. What is it you do for work?
|
Hang in there brother.
Big prayers coming your way and you have my number if you need someone to reach out to. I'm serious |
This, too, shall pass.
:sadangel: |

Hang in there ! |
Yikes, I'm sorry to hear about this.....I'm still unemployed here in Houston as well.
If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask. |
Sorry to hear!
Tell us what you did (or want to do) and where you are located. Who knows...maybe someone on here knows someone? Hang in there. |
Yikes. Don't make any major decisions right away. Then plan how you're gonna work through this and work your plan.
|
Whatever you do-don't go to a bar. This is not the time. Hang in there-It DOES get better.
|
Damn. But look at it this way, it's a clean break from the old life. Things will get better. Prayers heading out. And we are here whenever you need to get things off your chest.

You've got a network here, let's see if we can open some doors. |

It is not always a positive to do well and make a salary slightly above your peers. It was a "bottom line" cost cutting decision. I made too much money, although if you saw what I have to show for it, you might not think so. It's all relative. Too much for the company, probably standard for the industry.
My job title was Program Manager (Account Manager) Basically I worked with our customer base as a single point of contact for all of their business within our facility. I "owned" their business from the quote stage all the way through delivery. My company assembled circuit boards, wire harnesses, and box builds (electromechanical equipment) for primarily the oil industry in my case, but we had other types of customers too. |
Holy crap, that truly sucks.:sadangel: It's got to be frightening as hell, but like everyone says, hang in there, and I'm pulling for you, too. :yesnod:
|
It may be distasteful, but (assuming you're eligible) sign up right away for unemployment, too. Keep some cash flow going until you do find something.
|
Sorry. Been there done that a few times. Another door will open.
|
Good luck man. Apply for unemployment and don't give up.
