Splain me - Keystone

Can someone tell me what the Federal government's role in the pipeline is? Isn't it possible for each state to circumvent the government by allowing the pipeline through their individual state all along the path?

Is it on Federal land? Can the land be bought back from the Feds?

Don't forget DOT and FERC. Its a shitshow but no way they should be able to stop it now. Liquiefication capacity has been built down south and back east to take the product. Refining capacity etc. Probably 6 or 7 jobs lost for every pipeliner and support craft.

If the designs have already been certified to be in compliance, unless the EPA laws change, then there is no EPA issue, is there?

Environmental permits were revoked.

Thus a construction stop.

Thus a firing for everyone involved.

OK, THAT makes sense. I didn't think Biden could stop a commercial project run by private companies. He can pull permits though. Thanks.

Do the states have any power to overturn?

I just read there are two other pipelines that (so far) are still going forward.

Check The Constitution ..

The power /rights of the Federal Government are strictly limited .

AFAIK . All 'agencies' , 'bureaus' etc . can only operate with the consent of each state they operate in .
So ; the EPA , BLM etc. could in theory be barred from states if they wished to do so

YMMV..:seasix:

States mean nothing to central government types.

Karma Baby!

What sucks is that when Trump's economy was thriving, Dems that hated him benefited from it. Biden's failures likewise are shared by us all. I want him to fail, but that's only going to hurt me too, so I have to hope the damage is minimal.
